Feeding Your Creative Soul
Separate your marketing growth from your creative needs
Recently, I’ve found myself in high octane output mode. All good things. But I’ve noticed a pattern in my own life as well as listening to the needs and frustrations of authors.
We must separate marketing growth and creative needs.
Why? One serves our customer/reader avatars and the other serves our creative souls. It does happen occasionally that these two paths can be similar. But if we’re honest, we aren’t our own avatars. We have slightly different needs.
How does this impact authors?
Don’t confuse your need to express yourself through writing with marketing. Again this is very nuanced. I have seen many times that we need to write or create for ourselves and that’s needed. Yet, that’s not always going to serve your avatars best.
What you and your avatar need may be completely different.
I felt this need recently. I was in high OUTPUT and needing some INPUT. It’s amazing how a little has gone a long way. Not obsessing about it. Just having a blast, slowing down and creating. No pressure just art and fun.
Future documenting and fun
So that’s a little project I’ll be doing here when it makes sense. I’ll be sharing and documenting projects and clients and family and today – crepes and coffee.
